Tonight's telethon was definitely one for the books. George Clooney seemed to have pulled everyone currently working in Hollywood on one stage. Subsequently there were many memorable performances. This post isn't about all of them though, just my Top 5 because I'm tersely narcissistic. The 5th spot would go to John Legend, because his rendition of “Motherless Child” was nothing short of legendary. The 4th spot would be filled three ways by Kid Rock, Sheryl Crow and my dude Keith Urban because their take on “Lean on me” was soulful and moving. The 3rd spot would have to be occupied by Justin Timberlake and his man Matt Morris, because their Cohen Cover was downright flawless.
The 2nd spot goes inarguably to Mary J Blige, who was the only performer of the night to bring me to tears. But as much as I love Mary, how in the world could I place anyone besides Haiti's native son Wyclef in the top spot??? Not only did he perform a song from one of my favorite flicks, “The Harder they Come”, but he broke it down into some Haitian carnival music. There were other great performances, but if you enjoy live instrumentation and musicianship, you'll probably prefer these as well. To see my top 5 as well as all the other great performances of the night click here and be sure to visit HopeforHaiti.org to give to this worthy cause.

In the devastating aftermath of the Earthquake this week that has affected over 3 million of it's citizens and crumbled it's presidential palace, to say that Haiti is exhausting it's resources is a profound understatement. An odd casualty of this finds itself in Jet fuel. Civilian Flights were halted on Thursday at the behest of the Haitian government citing an overcrowded Toussaint L'Ouverture International Airport and insufficient jet fuel for planes to go back. The hold should be lifted shortly, but in the meantime you can still send donations to charities who are on the ground helping, such as the Red Cross.

In their landmark January 2010 “Size issue”, the editorial features highlights of big-bone-ded celebs, fashion and models. It just dropped, so make it a “more-to-love” January.
