MICK BOOGIE X TERRY URBAN X LEMAR AND DAULEY PRESENTS LE DA SOUL MIXTAPE!!

Just in time to give thanks to some hip-hop legends, our musical collaborative project with Mick Boogie and Terry Urban releases today! LE DA SOUL: 20 years of De La Soul!

Inspired by 20 years of greatness from hip-hop's most consistent group, De La Soul, this project unites the cream of the crop in hiphop… including old school legends (Phife, Camp Lo and Skillz), current hitmakers (Talib Kweli and Kardinal Offishall) and future stars (U-N-I, Tanya Morgan and Tabi Bonney) to remake their favorite De La classics.

Originally stemming from Mick Boogie's popular VH1 Honor Roll mixtape last year, we worked with our favorite artists and producers to create an astounding 20 remakes!  One for every year of De La history!

Lemar And Dauley, Mick, Terry and The Press Play Show would like to thank and salute Pos, Dave and Mase for 20 years of making history!

LE DA SOUL MIXTAPE: MICK BOOGIE/ TERRY URBAN/ MIKE SEE/ LEMAR AND DAULEY

Had dinner with Mick Boogie and Terry Urban earlier this week to discuss the Le Da Soul Mixtape we are collaborating on in homage to De La Soul. We met up in Brooklyn and together with producer Mike See, the project began to really take shape. In fact, we practically got 1/3 of the project in the bag in less than 2 days, which is crazy! Im definitely excited about this tape as we are going to really offer a great model on how to put projects together independent of a label and with brands you trust, but thats to be discussed in the near future.

A SIDE B SIDE MEDIA ALBUM REVIEW: "CRIME PAYS"

This album is hot! Lmao…. After the smoke clears Crime Pays is what it is; 1.2 hours of non stop runnin, gunnin, and stuntin. If you like those kinds of things then this album's for you. Is this a Cam classic? No. Does Cam even sound like he wants to rhyme? No. But who listens to rap music for that anymore? Cam's music is like Michael Jackson's face, the worse it gets the more you realize he did this for you. Cam has transmogrified his style into a sustainable product for those of us who understand it and his malcontent for conformity is a testament to Harlem and his loyal fans. It all boils down to entertainment value but I realize like most of Cam's work Crime Pays is like a foreign film, if you don't speak the language you won't be entertained. Continue reading…

A SIDE B SIDE MEDIA COOL KIDS "GONE FISHING"

Okay so ya'll know we love The Cool Kids here and we're always pushing them and bumping anything new from them. Their slow almost lazy flow with the detailed attention to the lyrics is a signature of theirs that I personally believe makes them one of the most distinctive acts of the New kids on the block. I appreciate that they are so lyrical in a time when the one regarded as “The greatest rapper in the world” isn't even terribly lyrical. Either way, The Cool Kids have a new mixtape entitled “Gone Fishing” and it's a freeload. Check it out!
