Because a recession is not a concession to depression, art enthusiasts converged at last week's prestigious Art Basel fair in Basel Switzerland. Happy Hitmaker Pharrell and Japanese artist Takashi Murakami debuted their collaboration with Jacob the Jeweler entitled “Simple Things” which showcased concepts by Pharrell, an original sculpture by Murakami and baubbles by Jacob. Taking 2 years to develop and produce, the piece centers around the sculptural Murakami character Mr DOB, who's mouth is artfully agape to expose it's blinged out contents.
