Earlier this year we introduced you to an emerging emcee by the name of Stalley. I've known Stalley for a few years now, when a mutual friend of ours, Montie, introduced us in 07'. At the time he was working with Mos Def and headed to London for a show. I listened to some of his music and was impressed by its direction. The sound was very backpack, but yet still possessed a certain aggression that made me feel the “brooklyn” in the Cleveland native's tone. I wished him safe travels and like many musicians I meet, I wish them the best luck within their careers. Fast forward two years later and Stalley has commanded considerably attention. Recently he dropped his second mixtape, Mad Stalley: The Autobiography, toured regionally along the east coast and made an impression that has placed him as a candidate for Grey Goose's Rising Icons.
Last years winners were Wale, The Dream, Kid Cudi and Ryan Leslie, so you can see that this is a huge achievement to win. Vote Stalley as Cleveland's Rising Icons!
