Congrats to DJ Jasmine Salano who snatched the crown from the Budweiser Battle For Crown Competition this weekend. We had the opportunity this Friday to witness Jasmine battle for the slot to perform at The Rock The Bell concert on July 19th at Jones Beach, NYC. The show was a bit lackluster with more than enough “Money, Cash, Hoes” references. This is pretty much standard hip hop, so we werent judging, but their was alot to be desired and Ms. Salano fit the bill!
The show went into a three way tie, which forced Ms. Salano to truly prove herself in front of many of her peers. If she was gonna make it to Jones Beach, it wasnt going be easy, but in a rare instance, ability prevailed. The 1st emcee dropped a “written”(booo!!), the 2nd emcee actually got booed!!(haha) and Ms. Solano came thru and delivered a freestyle with poise and bravado neccessary to pull out the win. Congrats!! Make sure to cop your tickets next week as Im sure it going to be a great show! and shouts to the big homie, Mel D Cole, for the photographs as you can see more photos from the event at villageslum.
